The History of the 760 mm Gauge

This programme follows the traces of the, even, narrow gauge of vehicles used for the building of the pyramids via the excavating transport used during building the Suez Canal to the development of the modern transport system in Bosnia Herzegovina. This internationally mandated territory had been awarded to the Austrian monarchy to administer and develop. Bosnia Herzegovina became the cradle of the so-called "Bosnian Gauge" of 760 mm. After its economic and operational success, this narrow gauge spread all over the Austrian Empire.
